It is also important to note that food sensitivity testing is different from food allergy testing. While both tests aim to identify adverse food reactions, they differ in their methodologies and the types of reactions they are intended to detect. Food allergy testing focuses mainly on immediate and, in some instances, potentially life-threatening reactions that can be caused by foods. Food sensitivity testing, on the other hand, aims to detect delayed responses that typically are less severe but may still affect one’s health in less obvious ways. If you suspect that you have a true food allergy it is advisable to have a food allergy test. PreviMedica currently offers only food sensitivity testing.
The lab tests offered here are not covered by any health care benefit program.
